Samui Island Tour - Sightseeing Tour around Samui
1. Wat Plai LaemApprox. 40 minutes
Begin your island adventure with a visit to this colorful and peaceful temple complex, home to the stunning 18-arm statue of Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy. Surrounded by a serene lake and smaller shrines, it’s a perfect place to absorb the local culture and snap some beautiful photos.
2. Big Buddha Temple (Wat Phra Yai)Approx. 30 minutes
This famous mummy of the monk Luang Por Dang is located inside the temple “Wat Kunaram”. The monk died in 1973 and has not decayed ever since. Although not having been preserved in any way, it is still in a remarkably well-preserved condition.
3. Chaweng Viewpoint (Lad Koh) Approx. 15 minutes
A quick but breathtaking stop overlooking Chaweng Bay. Perfect for photos and soaking in sweeping views of the Gulf of Thailand.
4. Hin Ta & Hin Yai (Grandfather & Grandmother Rocks)Approx. 30 minutes
See the island’s most unusual natural rock formations, shaped by nature and surrounded by stories from local folklore. These unique rocks are a fun and quirky stop on your journey.
5. Wat Khunaram – The Mummified MonkWat Plai Approx. 20 minutes
The next stop is at Wat Plai Laem temple, one of the most beautiful Temple complexes on Koh Samui. It is built on a platform inside a fishpond. On the right-hand side of the temple you will see a statue of the Chinese goddess GUANYIN and on the left-hand side a statue of the grinning monk BUDAI. Both statues are also embedded inside the fishpond and accessible via small footbridges.
6. Na Muang Waterfall 1Approx. 40 minutes
Finish your tour with a refreshing visit to one of Koh Samui’s most beautiful waterfalls, set in a lush tropical forest. Enjoy a short nature walk or simply relax in the cool, shaded area.
