Last Updated: June 2026Our Commitment to Your Safety
At Fireleaf Solutions Co., Ltd., your safety is our highest priority. We work exclusively with licensed, experienced operators and guides who adhere to Thai safety regulations and international best practices. Every tour is designed with safety as the foundation, and we continuously review and improve our safety procedures.
↑ Back to top1. General Safety Requirements for All Tours
The following safety measures apply to every tour and activity we offer:
- A comprehensive safety briefing is given before every activity.
- All tours are led by licensed, trained guides.
- First aid equipment is carried on all tours.
- Emergency procedures are in place and communicated to all participants.
- Guides have the authority to modify or cancel activities if safety conditions change.
2. Activity-Specific Safety Information
Please review the safety information relevant to your booked activity.
Snorkeling & Diving
- Life vests are mandatory — in compliance with Thai maritime law (effective April 2025). Life vests are provided for all participants and must be worn while in the water unless supervised diving.
- Basic swimming ability is required for all snorkeling activities.
- All introductory (discovery) dives are supervised by certified dive instructors.
- Supervision ratios: Maximum 20:1 (participants to guide) for snorkeling; maximum 2:1 for introductory dives.
- Reef-safe sunscreen only: chemical sunscreens containing oxybenzone and octinoxate are prohibited. We recommend mineral-based (zinc oxide) sunscreen.
- Do not touch, stand on, or break coral. Maintain a minimum distance of 2 metres above coral formations.
- Do not chase, touch, or feed marine life.
Boat Tours & Island Hopping
- Life jackets are provided for all passengers and must be accessible at all times.
- A safety briefing is conducted at the start of every boat trip, covering life jacket use, emergency exits, and man-overboard procedures.
- Tours are weather-dependent. We may cancel or reschedule if sea conditions are unsafe. In such cases, a full refund or alternative date will be offered.
- Swimming under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited.
- Follow all crew instructions at all times, including when to sit, stand, and move around the vessel.
ATV & Off-Road Adventures
- Helmets are mandatory — helmets are provided and must be worn at all times while operating or riding an ATV.
- Closed shoes required: sandals, flip-flops, and open-toe footwear are not permitted.
- Minimum age: 16 years old to operate an ATV as a driver. Passengers must be at least 8 years old.
- Participants with the following conditions may not participate: back or neck problems, pregnancy, heart conditions, recent surgery, or any condition that may be aggravated by rough terrain and vibrations.
- A training session is provided before every ride. You must demonstrate competency before departing on the trail.
Hiking & Trekking
- Appropriate footwear: closed-toe shoes with good grip are required. Hiking boots or trail shoes are recommended.
- Sun protection: bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Koh Samui has high UV levels year-round.
- Hydration: bring sufficient water. We provide water on most tours, but additional personal supply is recommended.
- Each hiking tour specifies a fitness level requirement (easy, moderate, or challenging). Please ensure you select a tour appropriate for your fitness level.
- Stay on marked trails at all times and follow your guide's instructions.
Kayaking & Paddleboarding
- Life vests are provided and must be worn at all times while on the water.
- Basic swimming ability is required for all kayaking and paddleboarding activities.
- Activities are weather-dependent. Tours may be modified or cancelled if wind or wave conditions are unsafe.
- A brief orientation session is provided, covering paddle technique, getting on/off the board, and what to do if you capsize.
Elephant Sanctuaries
- Follow guide instructions at all times. Elephants are large, powerful animals. Your guide will explain how to approach, feed, and interact safely.
- No flash photography: camera flashes can startle elephants and cause unpredictable behaviour.
- Keep a safe distance unless directed otherwise by your guide.
- Do not make sudden movements or loud noises near the elephants.
- Age restrictions may apply. Children under 4 may not be permitted for certain interactions. Specific age requirements are listed on each tour page.
